A FLASH OF COLOUR, A FANCY HAT AND WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE?

Today's window is all about "dressing up" and it sure is attracting a lot of attention.

Following yesterday's announcement that our first lady Governor General Quentin Bryce is to be known as Dame Quentin, it is fitting that Rainy Day Books window today has its own take on the wonderful world of hats (just look at news items of Dame Quentin over her tenure as Governor General to see that she certainly promoted this accessory constantly).

So take time to visit Rainy Day Books, and see their window presentation of Hats, Hats, Hats (non-fiction and fiction) together with other accessories including Scarves and Hat Pins.   Here are a few examples.

You never know what treasures you will uncover at Rainy Day Books, whatever your interests may be.   Visit soon, and if there are any special books you would like to get but can't locate, then ask Meryll and she will so a search on your behalf through her networks of world-wide contacts.

Have you taken the opportunity of having a look at the beautiful mural on the outside side wall of Rainy Day Books?

It's Beginning to Feel Like Christmas!

December has come around so quickly.

Christmas gift buying is suddenly becoming the main focus in people's thoughts.   This is the time for choosing something really special for those we love.  And what is more special than a book.

It may be a special author, it may be a book on a subject that you know will fascinate someone special. Perhaps a set of collectible Dickens?     What about Enid Blyton's Noddy?    Stephanie Alexanders "The Cook's Companion"?   Gardening Books?   Fiction?  Non-fiction?   There's a book for everybody!

When you visit the bookshop, do take time to have a look at the beautiful hand-folded Christmas Tree in the Window with a small angel sitting on top.   This hand-folded Christmas Tree is the work of Meryll in her spare time!   It's amazing just what you can make from old books!

TAKE TIME TO VISIT THE BOOKSHOP AND BROWSE.

YOU'LL BE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED AT WHAT YOU FIND
IN THE BOOKSHELVES AT RAINY DAY BOOKS.
