SOCCER!

Football means different games to different people but worldwide if you say football, you mean SOCCER.

Great window display at the moment in Rainy Day Books that features Aston Villa and a nice collection of soccer books from around the world.

Don’t miss the huge soccer ball featured right in the centre of the window and the well used muddy soccer boots borrowed from a young friend of mine.

Mother's Day 2012

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and for all who are lucky enough to have a mother to show your appreciation to on this special day there are lovely books available at Rainy Day Books.

The window looks a picture with several great books suitable for gifts or you could give a gift voucher if it’s too hard to choose.

Meryll is always there with some good suggestions, a cook book, light reading, gardening book or maybe the latest murder thriller would suit your special Mum.

Buy Australian!

This months window is not about books but about a small booklet.
Its the new Ausbuy list of Australian owned businesses, just released.
This handy little book lists all the foods that are owned and operated in Australia and they exhort us to buy just $50 a week in Australian owned goods from our shopping list.   If everyone did this we would wipe out Australia’s deficit.
I have tried to place a range of goods from Australian owned companies that are also made in Australia and sourced from Australian ingredients.
I couldn’t put a packet of white sugar on display because although we grow sugar here we no longer own any of the processing plants.
Be Australian – Buy Australian!
